Your material is evaluated technically and you receive a proposal with scope, turnaround and price. No one-size-fits-all rate card — the quote reflects what your track actually needs.

Agreement & initial payment
Once you approve the proposal, you receive the service agreement. Work is scheduled after sign-off on the agreement and confirmation of the initial payment.

File delivery
You receive the studio's technical delivery guide — formats, headroom, export and naming. Files delivered to spec mean your turnaround clock starts immediately.

Production
Mixing and/or mastering, per the service booked. Any technical questions about your material are raised with you before any irreversible decision is made.

Revisions & approval
You receive each version for review, with two revision rounds included per stage. Changes are specific and documented — you know what changed and why.

How we work
Listening before processing
Every project starts with critical listening to the full material, reading the rough mix as the artist's statement of intent, and studying the commercial references you send. Engineering decisions grow out of that diagnosis — never out of a pre-built processing chain. There is no house preset applied to every track that comes in; there is a method applied to each track that arrives.
What "analog-inspired" means here
Reel to Reel's workflow follows tape-studio logic: disciplined gain staging at every stage, saturation and compression used to build density and glue — not just to catch peaks — and harmonic color applied with intent, where the music gains from it. That work is done with reference-grade emulations of the classic processors, driven with the same judgment as the hardware they model. What's analog here is the approach and the ears — and that's what you hear in the result.
Dynamics are part of the music
Competitive loudness doesn't require crushing the groove. Dynamic control is built in layers across the whole chain — from the mix to the final limiter — so the track reaches market level while keeping its transients, its breathing room and its impact. The loudness target is set by where the track will actually live: what works on a streaming playlist is not what works on a club system, and the master reflects that difference.
Translation is the final test
A mix is only finished when it holds up outside the room it was made in. Verification covers mono compatibility, phase correlation, low-end behavior on limited systems, and playback across multiple real-world contexts. The goal: the first time you hear your track in the car, on earbuds and over the club PA, it's the same record — with the same intent.
